Cup of Peak

Daily Cup of Peak

The time is “NOW”

That’s what Coach Keeler said today as he closed the 12:30PM class.  But, what exactly was he referring to? I am not sure because I was still gasping for air and trying to figure out where I was!!

But, the quote stuck with me and led me to think about what is it time for me to do right NOW that I may have been procrastinating or simply put on the back burner??

What about you, is there something you need to finally just start because there is no better time than NOW?!

“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”

― Franklin D. Roosevelt.

This quote helps me to stay grateful for the storms and adversity in life. As we approach adversity with courage and a resilient mindset; we develop skills, we grow, and we transform to be able to better overcome future challenges.

Let’s continue to embrace the rough seas, and become skillful sailors.

Let’s EAT

It’s probably getting close to that time of week where cooking and cleaning are starting to weigh on you. If that’s you, be easy on yourself and treat yourself to some Take-Out.

Obviously we encourage you to eat the healthy stuff; but just as important right now is that you eat the LOCAL stuff.

Supporting your local restaurants during these times will be critical for their survival and can help put food on other people’s plates as well.

Make it more awesome by supporting your local Peak members restaurant

Let’s MOVE

Today’s WOD – I’m still gasping for air!

For a quick one that supports the United in Movement initiative…

Every 4 min (3min on + 1min rest) for 5 rounds of:

21/21 Alternating Lunge Jumps

15 Clapping Push-ups

9 Reverse Burpees

**In remaining time within the 3min window: Max Broad Jumps | 4ft for men, 3ft for women

Rest 1min between rounds

Peakers are Givers – we will say this one again.

How do I know? Because when presented with an opportunity to help; we rise to the occasion. Yesterday we kicked it off and today in 24 hours we have over $3,000 raised for our own Peak family members.

In case you missed this message yesterday. We are providing an opportunity for our own community to be there for one-another during this time of crisis. Some have had to freeze their memberships due to getting laid off, significant pay-cuts, or their place of employment getting shut-down.

This is where we get to demonstrate that we are More than just a Gym, and show love the way PEAK FAMILY does.

The goal is to raise $400 per person, per month to assist with essential expenses such as utility bills and groceries.
